A stray cat that we suspect had a herpes viral infection, or perhaps was in an accident. Luckily, only one of her eyes is gone and the other seems to be in great working order. She wouldn’t have much chance for survival out there fully blind.

No matter the complexity of the case, we always give our very best to help those who have no one to look out for them.
Each of our local projects has us doing more than neutering and spaying – each one is also an opportunity to treat animals that have no one to take them to the vet or even notice they are not doing well. In some cases, we save them daily pain or even agony. In others, we end up saving their lives. No matter the complexity of the case, we always give our very best to help those who have no one to look out for them.
The eye is beyond treatment or repair. In such cases it is advisable to remove it surgically. We set about to do just that to make sure the eye doesn’t cause our patient pain or bring about unnecessary complications such as infections. Her life on the street is tough as it is. Her capture for spaying was also her chance at a better quality of life.
A male street dog is brought in by a volunteer who notices a huge genital tumor. Despite that our patient was already neutered at some point in the past and doesn’t technically fall within the parameters of our project, we welcome the opportunity to bring relief.
The tumor is huge indeed, heavy and infected. It doesn’t just cause daily struggle to the animal but it could be potentially fatal, especially at the rate with which it seems to be growing.
We put our patient under anesthesia and surgically remove the burdensome, heavy formation. The dog seems otherwise healthy so his chances of good recovery are high.
Our patient will wake up considerably lighter, just as his life is about to become. We’ll make sure he stays under observation before we release him back to his territory.
