Joint action with the police ends incredible animal suffering

In Rentina, not far from our operating room, we discover a place that makes even our hair stand on end. Dozens of dogs vegetate in rusty cages or tethered, some are locked up in the house. Many of the poor animals flee in panic in front of people. It stares with dirt and despair, the whimpering and barking in our ears and the smell is indescribable. We leave the place and come back a few hours later with the police.

Five of the 34 rescued dogs: for them, the suffering has an end.

One of the main concerns of veterinarians in action is to enforce animal welfare laws. Only when such abuses are punished can a law really protect the animals. Thanks to friendly organizations, we can accommodate almost all animals in the next few days. The phones are running hot to find suitable places for the remaining eight dogs, some of which are completely wild.
