Vasko’s arrival in the Valley in 2021 was quite a surprise. We had made arrangements to welcome a female donkey from the town of Petrich. But when the trailer arrived we were faced with a second donkey – a sorry-looking one with the worst hooves imaginable. The local farmer who provided the transport had decided to use the opportunity and bring Vasko, too.
