Mutte comes from the village of Ribnovo up in the mountain, some 25 km away from our Donkey Valley in Banichan. Mutte and his human, Letif, are deeply attached. Laughing through tears, the man tells us of their three decades spent together in hard work and heartwarming companionship. Letif’s old age has forced him to part with his lifelong friend because he can no longer provide him with good care. When they arrive in the Valley, we witness the most touching goodbye we have ever seen.
